Forgot to mention in my last post that Mikey has a super cute new trick. Over the weekend we caught him holding his hand up to his ear and started to gab away like he was on the phone. Thought it was a fluke the first time I saw him do it but then daddy saw him do it and pointed it out to me. After that we’d see him pick up random objects, like books and shoes and hold them up to his ear and start talking. He is calling daddy every time. It’s HILARIOUS because he knows what to do and really gets into his phone conversation. I gave him one of my old cell phones to play with and he puts it by his ear, sometimes its really by his cheek, and he starts talking away. It’s amazing how they just know what to do. Guess he sees us doing it enough that he picked up on our cool trick.

Not sure where Mikey learned this but lately if you just sing the E-I-E-I-O part of Old McDonald he repeats it. It’s is sooooooo cute to hear him say that part.

Also daddy taught him how to clean his hands. He’ll put a dab of purell on Mikey’s hands and he’ll rub his hands together to spread it. It’s hilarious to watch!

I’ll try to get both of these on video but no guarantees because he tends to not do what I want as soon as he see the video camera.

So this past weekend Mikey did a few things that are pretty memorable to us just because they kinda caught us off guard. On Saturday night while feeding him his dinner he kept throwing his sippy of milk off of the high chair to the floor. Finally I had enough and took the cup away and gave it to daddy. He started to pretend to drink it. Mikey did not like what he saw. He lifted his hand and pointed at his daddy and then proceeded to say No No No. It was sooooo funny! It was hard to not laugh at that moment to.

Then on Sunday night we were all eating dinner at our dining room table and Mikey didn’t want to eat his food, he wanted what we had out of our bowl, not out of his bowl. Oh and not with his spoon, had to be with ours! So I decided to give him a break and turned his high chair around so that he couldn’t watch us eat. As he sat there I proceeded to tell him how what he was doing was unacceptable (even if he doesn’t understand me) and then told him that I was just going to give the rest of his food to daddy. He then started clapping!!! We just sat there with our mouths wide open not believing what he just did. The kid seriously was happy he wasn’t going to eat his food anymore! Of course we had to fight back laughing, but boy was that funny.

Ok not really. A friend of mine had mentioned the KidCo Peadpod Plus recently to use on trips instead of using a hotel’s crib or taking the big ole pack-n-play. I looked into it and quickly purchased one online at a discount. Well it conveniently arrived today before Mikey’s afternoon nap. So since I’m working from our home office today I put it together in here instead of putting him in his crib for his nap. He played for about 30 minutes in it and then got the hint and passed out. The reason why I purchased it so quickly is because we are heading to Orlando this weekend with his daddy’s company. They are taking a ton of employees and their families for a day at Universal so I figured this would be a great chance to try this out.

Last night since it was bath night we decided to try out the big boy tub instead of having Mikey bath inside his smaller tub which we’d put inside the big tub. I even bought a cute little Elmo tub mat for him to sit on so that he didn’t slip and slide around the tub.

Mikey LOVED the Big Boy Tub. He was even petting the water which was super cute. He could care less about all of the new toys that he had access to since there was more room to play, he was in awe of the water.

So I went down to see Mikey at 1 figuring he’d be asleep since it was nap time for the “big kids”. Well he was asleep and thankfully he was facing the other way so I quickly snapped a photo of him. Here’s the pic I got:

Then there were a few babies crying so he started to stir. I started to walk away because I didn’t want him seeing me so that he cold fall back asleep. But he spotted me and then I went to hide and he wouldn’t go back down. I then find out he had been sleeping for an hour and a half which isn’t horrible and didn’t finish his lunch because he was so tired. So they put him in his little “big kid” high chair and I was able to give him his lunch. Here’s a cute pic of him after he finished his lunch:

So as I posted before at noon I called daycare and they told me Mikey had already had his lunch and was trying to fall asleep. I ended up going down around 1:15 to pay a short visit in hopes that I would catch him sleeping. To my surprise he wasn’t in his crib, he was all by his lonesome self sleeping on a mat on the floor on the big kid side of the room. There were only 4 kids in the infant room today, probably due to the storm, and they were considering just putting him in his crib for his nap but decided to try out the mat instead and what a great decision that was. He went to sleep so fast they said. Maybe he has always wanted to sleep on the floor like the big kids do? Who knows. I’m counting down the minutes until I can run downstairs to pick him up so that I can hear all about the rest of his day, in Mikey talk of course. ;o)

So for months now Mikey will shake his head no when you say “No No No” to him. It’s rather cute actually. Well he’s been playing with saying N’s this week and a lot of it has sounded like Neh Nah No. Well finally after I said “No No No” he started shaking his head and he copied me and said “No No No”. I knew I should have taken the video camera out just in case, but didn’t think he’d do THAT. I was just hoping he’s say “No No No” not just his head too.
